Crap who needs instruments anymore, if you have a pad and a 5$ app.

Sounded good. The vox was the poorest track of the bunch and it was fine. Simply amazing.

Makes me sad for the future of music. I think kids won't bother to learn real instruments anymore when they can poke around on an inexpensive app for a few minutes and get good results with little effort. How much music will be performed or recorded with real instruments 20 or 30 years from now?

Learning an instrument is hard. Learning an app is easy. Kids are lazy. You do the math. :(

I think this is fantastic.

I remember when the first couple of Queen albums came out.  Brian May had such a unique guitar sound that they printed a "no synths" disclaimer on the back of the album sleeve.  They didn't believe that synths created "real" music.  About 10 years later there were synths all over Queen albums. Remember the furore when Bob Dylan went electric.  They almost chased him out of England for being a traitor. In retrospect, some of his best music was done with electric guitars. These days, guitar players use synth guitar pedals and amp simulators that you could argue have nothing to do with the guitar sound. I have one and I love playing around with it. I remember reading the positive response to the BR80 having that pitch fixing device that allows us to sing in tune. This iPad thing is another step along the line of that.

Lets embrace it and use it to our advantage.

And lots of great music has been made by people who can hardly play the "real" instruments - Ramones, Jonathon Richman, Sex Pistols, (early) Billy Bragg, etc

I like and use apps for sugar and spice but haven't heard an app or sim immitate a true guitar sound. Nothing beats a tube amp! Nothing!!! Other instruments yes but not guitar. Yes they can make an album but if they tour, are you gonna be impressed by them playing iPads? Are you gonna hold a lighter up and smoke a spliff yelling that's cool? I think not!

Came across this by accident, you are one talented MF not only in music but production and video design. I love music and gadgets but i couldn't do what you've done. This video is a keeper for me, especially since Pink Floyd is my favourite band. Well done...

I'm still trying to decide what I think about that youtube video.
On the one hand I like gadgets and electronics seem the way of the future.
But I also like live "real" instruments, of wood, steel, brass, vacuum tubes, dials, circuit boards, silicone, oh wait...

Maybe it is the app part that is giving me issues, no need for music knowledge, just point at a note and the app does the rest
