A mellow Southern Rocker featuring Buddrumming on drums. I'm doing the rest using a Taylor mini acoustic guitar, a Epi Casino for slide, a Nashville tuned Fender Telecoustic, harmonica, and a Fender Jazz bass. I took the suggestions of adding slide and it worked out perfectly.

Southern Boy

(V1) I can feel that warm breeze

Blowing through the willow trees

Sittin' on the edge of the pond

As calming as a Southern song

Give me a glass of  sweet tea

Give me some of those black eyed peas

A little cornbread to go along

With honey butter you can't go wrong

Woah Ohooooooo.....I'm a Southern Boy

(Chr) You can take the boy out of the South

You can't take the South out of the boy

There's nothin' finer than those Southern Belles

But a Southern boy never tells

Woah Ohooooooo

 (V2) It's been a while since I've been there

A slower pace with fewer cares

Time and time I wonder back

The daydreams feed the things I lack

The air's so thick it cuts with a knife

Spreading out with a tasteful slice

I feel a strong need to preserve

In my mind my spot's reserved

Woah Ohooooooo.....I'm a Southern Boy

(Chr) You can take the boy out of the South

But you can't take the South out of the boy

There's nothin' finer than those Southern Belles

But a Southern boy never tells

Woah Ohooooooo...... bring it home.

(Instrumental - Solo)

(Chorus 2x's)

Hey great tune so well produced, a lot of work has gone in to this, fav sound is the Taylor  acoustic sounds just great, in the instrumental section I,d go for a little slide as I think this would suit this style of music.

This is lovely - guitar sounds great, vocals are spot on (harmonies give it a lift in the chorus) and I loved the harmonica. I think a slide would be the icing on the cake. Always a classy production with you Farrell and I wasn't disappointed.

Thanks Bruno! I 'm really liking my Nashville tuned guitar as a backing guitar to my acoustic guitar tracks. I've used it in the last two songs with good results so it will get a lot more use in future songs.

Thanks!

Hi Farrell, yet another great song from you. This has a slightly softer drive than some of your stuff and I think you could go either way with slide or guitar. I hear guitar but I think I may be in the minority. Whatever, I shall look forward to listening to the finished product..............Willie
