I've been working on this song this week - it's based on a version by Angus and Julia Stone but I've changed bits and done my own thing.

The percussion is me rubbing the guitar strings and I sat down and held my Rode mic for a more intimate vocal!
Just took the breath sounds out in Audacity and tried to add a slight reverb on the vox.

Nice Haylie, very nice cover. I know there are 2 different camps on covers, the literal cover, which is very impressive and I enjoy & the interpretive cover,my preference, when you try to take the song somewhere else. You really did that very well here. I love the chill feel and your vocal is spectacular! Well done!
Rock on!

Very nice indeed! I've done cover as close as I can to the original and I've done my own interpretations and you always put more of yourself if you recreate it. You've done that here and it's turned out really good !!

Well done Haylie

Oh thanks guys :)

Geir - I haven't got the skills to get anywhere near close to original covers but I enjoy doing my own thing anyway. I tried to give this one an unrequited love feel.

I don't know the original, but I like how you did this! The breathy approach works well here...you added just a little, and not too much breath! Very nice and clean strumming on the guitar, as well.

Cuthbert - Sandy and Danny duet from Grease - it's iconic in the UK to those of us of a certain age who don't mind admitting we were never cool! Thanks for the comments.
