I was practicing my guitar last week, and my wife says to me why don't you play something new, that's on the radio. I say I don't like new stuff much, but I took up her challenge, and said OK next song on the radio, I'll do it. This came on, so I had to keep my word to her. But it has whistling in it (not good at) and a weird vocal effect, and the bass is the main stringed instrument (and I don't own a bass). The whistling I practiced and the bass sim in the BR-600 finally tweaked to a good bass sound, but the vocals almost stumped me. Then I remembered The Wall-----a megaphone! So I bought a cheap toy one and ta-da the effect I needed, cool, even the creepy Run, run run sounded good.  Hope you like it. By the way my wife did the back-up whistle on this, I told her she suggested this song, it was the least she could do)

Great job Mojo, your wife had great idea. I love to jump out of my comfort zone and do something different. You really seem to be embracing your 600 and I like each new tune more and more. Great call on the megaphone, it sounds excellent.Truth be told I really dig this song, way over played on the radio but very cool, and I dig your cover!
Rock on!

Nice job. I don't know the original but I like this. Bass sounds great. And that lo-fi vocal is cool. It reminds me of the 1979 debut album by Flash and the Pan. By the way, there's a good lo-fi effect in your BR-600 (see page 105 of the BR-600 manual and Line patches 41 to 50 on page 205).

This sounds good. Once you got to the hook I remember hearing this on the radio... like twice. Good use of effects and a nice overall sound makes for a good listen.

Love it, very cool Martin!!

And a very fitting song to post on this forum. A completely indie tune that was performed and initially produced by the author (Mark Foster). He went on to commercial status, but a demo of this could very well have been posted on a site like this first.

Well done, I thought you did a great job!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Hook, it is kinda weird going outside my comfort zone, but I really like the way this turned out. It changed the way I look at the production of a song too.

64, I haven't heard St.Peter since the early 80's!! One of those songs I forgot, but instantly I remembered it when I saw the vid. I forgot that the 600 had a lo-fi effect, I tried my guitar through it before, but never thought of putting vox through it, thanks, I'll try it.

T.C., it does have that catchy hook to it, doesn't it.

Mark, that indie vibe to it indeed does fit in on this site. Foster's rise to fame is a cool tribute to the internet and social media.

Nicely done, Mojo1961!

I must be one of the few who hadn't heard this song before. I dig the popping bass and the reverby, almost surfish sound of it with the guitars. Using a megaphone for the vocals was an inspired choice - it sounds great!
