I think the whole Metal Genre has become faster and faster... to the point of being "Unlistenable"... Not my cup of tea most of the time, but this is really impressive nonetheless... This guys could shred an amazing solo for sure. But I agree... pretty useless stuff...

By the time my mind caught up with what he was doing, the display was over, lol! Was there a melody in the mix....I give it a zero for being danceable, lol.

Yep. That's a very important point in evaluating any piece of music. We have to be able to separate its various merits from our own personal tastes. I don't like most metal music but I certainly appreciate the skills required to play it and I can understand why lots of people are attracted to it. It's just not to my own tastes. The same with country music (even more so). I can't stand listening to most of it, but I appreciate the musicianship involved and I understand its mass-appeal. I try to never say things like "country music sucks" because I know that no music is automatically bad just because I personally don't like it.

All music is good. But I don't like all music (just most). The music that I don't like isn't bad; it's just not to my tastes. So I try not to be negative about any kind of music.

The same is true of other forms of art. A painting called "Orange, red, yellow" was recently sold for $86.9 million (£53.8m). I don't think I'd hang it on my wall if it was given to me for free! It's just not to my taste. But somebody liked it enough to pay that ridiculous price for it. Obviously, they must think it's a great painting. So who am I to say it's not, just because I don't like it? All art (including music) is good if somebody likes it. Whether or not I like it is irrelevant.

in too many cases, i find that all too many who can play faster than fast and scale all over the neck, tend to be too mechanical and technical and not enough heart and feeling. i do not mean in all cases, but in all too many. just my opinion.

I ain't got no skills like that. Not my thing, but I can appreciate what commitment it took to get there. I like guitar played with heart, I find most shredding to be mechanical and souless.  Anyway, here's a vid that's a little easier on the eyes.
