further away by oldrottenhead for the diyfest

last week i tuned my guitar to the bluesberry tuning. (fadgce) and strummed for a bit, recorded a little chord progression. then played over the top of it but never recorded what i played over the top. to my ears at the time it sounded fabulous but i had to put down the guitar and go to work.

a day or two later i came back to it but couldn't for the life of me recall exactly what i played. i made various attempts to replicate what i had first played but as the days drew on it got more difficult to remember what i had played. probably because i wasn't used to this tuning.

anyway i recorded this which uses a rerecording of the original chord progression and a vague attempt at recalling those earlier counterpoints to said strumming. i then added some piano from the juno and tapped out some kick and snare drums on the juno.

the lyric that came was inspired by my search for that jam tucked away somewhere in my oldrottenhead.

a lesser song than i first imagined it could have been. oh well onto the next one.
