"Sweet Britney" a Hook original w/ bruno

Here one last entry for under2fest! I wrote this quirky tune last Tues. and recorded the 2 uke parts (clean & crunchy) simultaneously, and the mintycoin & ukussion tracks in my car last wed. on the 004. I did a rough mix and sent it to bruno and he laid down the bass, wobbly guitar, piano and a drum(keyboard?) tracks that I love ! I then froze on it and couldn't think of anything to say. I was about to send it to ORH(I got one for you comin soon brother!) when it hit me this morning as I was thinking about how Britney Spears just signed her life choices/guardianship over to her manager/fiance, good choice girl!
Anyhow I googled a list of Britney songs and decided to piece together her song titles into a song that might be a commentary on her life. Everything underlined in the lyrics are her song titles. It's a bit silly but I dig it! Vocals and mixdown were done on my br900.

Hey Hook - excellent and a quite different track, this one is definitely quirky! Love the idea of putting together song titles lyrically - that really clever, they flow together so very well. Great job.

Love the demented guitar tone! There's a tight little funkiness keeping everything on the rails though. Inspired and superbly executed. Got a bit of 'They Might be Giants' in the quirky vibe. Serious quality, fellas! Straight back for another listen...

Thanks Greeny - the demented guitar sound is from an old analog flanger. My girlfriend at the time bought it for me as a present when I was at uni - we have now been married for 25 years!

Anyway this is the little beast that makes that funny noise



This Flanger was used when we bought it (so no idea how old it actually is), and still works just fine - I'm sure it will outlast me

Killer concept of a song, and some awesome additions to make it seriously f*cking mental. That bass line and flange guitar is just making me crazy right now, and the soulful bluesy vox put it right over the top. Wow, I'm impressed!!
