Lo-fi quickie

Every word I ever said
Was a lie
I try my best to
Sing it like it's true
Ain't it funny how people
Believe what you sing
But I try
My best to lie

I've got a big old Technics organ, you know, with a two part staggered keyboard, bass pedals, massive speaker,   swell control, built in 'drum machine' etc. Proper old-peoples-home thing. The organ, piano and electric piano are really usable and sound pretty decent. It sits in our living room and the daughter loves messing around on it. When she doesn't know I'm listening is when she starts really finding her own way and picks out chords by ear. The only major bummer, is the thing is slightly off concert pitch, so I rarely use it for recordings, as I have to decide whether I'm going to use it before I start a 'song', so I can tune everything else to it first. But then I find it oddly restricting because I've planned to use some keys instead of spontaneously using them. Or something.

Thanks man...

The drum machine sounds mintage (I think I may have just created a new definition for that word - if so, you read it here first ;) ), and the organ sounds standard, but it's great.

Those piano (is that what it is?) notes playing the melody at the end are really far out! And were you watching the clock when you turned it off?

A friend of mine had a Lowery home organ that sounded a bit like this, but the voices were more 'reedy' overall. We did a few recordings with it on songs recorded on an old Fostex cassette multitracker way back in the day. Shutting down the Lowery mid-note always sounded great as you could hear the voice dying...slowly.  :)

If there is an opposite to bling, this is it. Honest and open and fab.

And all untrue.

The ending is inspired.
