I'm using AVS audio converter - is not free, but great. You can get in one price another 5 softwares, like audio editor, video editor, image converter, video converter. check this mate:-)

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, but I think I'm gonna roll with Aud for now. I'm gonna watch the video that 64 guitars posted and try to get this happening. I'll try to get to a little of it figured out tonight, but I have a rainy 3 day weekend coming up and this looks like a great way to spend it. By Monday I hope to be recording some guitar!

Ok, I have an icon on my computer that says the song is saved as a wav. I think I'm making progress. That video was so helpful! I downloaded the LAME software, and I can't find it anywhere on my hard drive, but I didn't look very hard for it. I just followed the instructions on the video and so far, so good. now I just have to get it on the BR1200. I'll keep you guys posted. By the way, this is my first experience with this sort of thing....do you guys donate $ to these free software downloads?

I do occasionally, it's not expected though and it has to 'move me' before I do.

SUCCESS!!! The Audacity wave converter worked, and I got my file loaded onto the BR. It plays back beautifully! I could almost shed a tear of joy right now. I can't thank you guys enough. I have been a musician/songwriter for about 35 years and I see a whole new world opening up. You can bet I will be posting and collaborating on this site plenty. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a lot to learn, going down this road, but I am ready to get this party started.

Well I recorded a track today and it sounded great. I've been playing this particular song for a couple of years and it was great to be able to sit back and listen to myself play it for once. One problem that I think is a by-product of this is that I lost the sound on my computer. I had itunes on it, so I uninstalled that and got my sound back. Then I lost it again (I did nothing else to cause it) and I can't get it back. I uninstalled Audacity but that didn't do it. What do you guys think happened? Am I having some sort of conflict with my default media player?

Ok, I got it. I don't know what I did that worked, but it worked. Now to get my Audacity back!
