I recorded a new song, mixed it, mastered it and exported it to mp3. I didn't like how it came out so I went back in and did some editing, remixed and remastered. When I exported the new version to mp3 it took my new version and attached the older one to it at the end, so when I play the newly mastered version it's fine, however, once it finishes, there is a break, then the old version begins, yet it only plays in the right speaker. What gives? I can't post my mp3 because the file is too large. Am I going to have to re-record the entire song? And if I do will the same thing happen again? How do I fix it? Can I edit an mp3?

thank in advance for your help.

Re the problems you are having you can send the mp3 to me and I'll edit it for you.
You can do it with programmes like audigy or cubase etc.
Re mastering, when you are mastering make sure the destination tracks are empty, on the lcd top line when mastering it shows the tracks its saving to  12v2 for example after that there is 2 squares, if they are hollow they are empty if shaded in they are full. Mastering should write over the top of them but if you have mastered to that destination before and the previous recording is longer it may still be there.  if that makes sense.
