I'm declaring bankruptcy too! Why are we all suddenly under the cosh? I have a job to do at work in re-establishing myself with a new boss. It's down to him whether my contract role turns permanent, so I have to put the hours and effort in to make sure I stand a chance. Sadly, it's so fickle here that even that may not be enough. And he's decided to sit next to me which doesn't help a great deal!

At first I thought you meant financially, and I came running in here thinking "omigod..."

But it turns out you're all hitting the same buffers I did ages ago...

Don't worry, panic, or feel any guilt wotsever - it'll be fine, it just won't be quite like it was before, but it will be fine :)

In a couple of weeks, you're all going to be amazed when I start commenting on songs. What it will mean is that I'm a day a or two away from posting something myself :D (unless I get too excited, in which case I'll post the song first and then start guiltily listening to and commenting on as many threads as I can for a few hours...)

My girlfriend broke the sink in the kitchen, I broke the shower. The 1950's house is in dire need for repair and modernization. I'm planning on having it completed in 30 days at the price of $10k. I expect that my goals will both be doubled.

See you guys on the flipside...

I dunno, 30 days ought to be achievable. (Mind you, are you doing it yourself or getting some folks in?)

Getting a bed delivered is another bluddy matter!!

And, since posting a while earlier, I've discovered that finding that a bunch of the Songcrafters "big-guns" struggling to make ends meet on the time front has actually been quite affirming for me (I don't believe orh, though, he may well feel like he's been through the wringer - I believe that bit - but he'll still manage to create another 10 or so recordings before my next one appears :D)

Well not that I put songs on here yet!! but I am also busy running the taxi business, running the band, playing with the band, going to see bands and recording when I can. It is very difficult when doing all these other activities to record songs, original songs that is. I have to learrn songs for the band, then we have to practice them.

In a way I suppose I am lucky because I can take music to work, I always have my acoustic in the taxi and the 80, I do vocals in the taxi, write songs, practice songs and work, so my days fly, then I come home and go out with the band, play, perform, practice, get paid, come home go to bed wake up go to work and start playing again, but still there isn't enough time to write and record, but what can I do ? Give up the taxi? well I could but the band is not enough to pay the bills and I have a appetite for buying guitars and amps that needs feeding. The band is never going to be enough of an earner but it is fun and that is the bottom line.

So in summary I get alot of fun from music but not much cash, never have done, I wish I could spend more time recording but the taxi comes first closely followed by the band then the recording then other stuff like eating, drinking, smokin and normal daily routines.

Also I tend to throw , sell stuff when I get fed up with them which accounts for the seemingly hundreds of guitars and amps that have passed through my hands, this is something I have tried to get under control but only yesterday I nearly bought a Rickenbacker 330, just for a few T Petty numbers with the band, instead I will use the MIJ Squier I bought the other month and save a grand, so If I don't stop buying, selling guitars I may really go bankrupt. In fact I have already been bakrupt before , but managed to keep the Gibson away from the liquidators by hiding it down the accountants office.

Anyway there you go.
Sweet young thing aint sweet no more.

I always try to listen to at least 2 songs for every one I post, and I post pretty regularly. I always end up listening to a few more throughout the average day and once a week maybe I'll get to sit for an hour or 2 and catch up. There's so much interesting music on here though it's hard to keep up, but I know I appreciate the listens and comments so I try to comment more than I post. I'm not sure what's attracted me to be so active with this site, I've never been very interested in cyber crap and I probably could find a million more important things to do , but here I am. I do know that my creative streak has been pretty serious since i started actively started posted/listening. I'm constantly inspired & challenged by the talent here and the fests and the idea of creative community.
So take a break if you need a break, life is pretty important. If you write songs your gonna write another song! If you love to play and record, do it when you can and post it when you want. I want to hear it!
Rock on!

Its tough to listen to everything. I try and either use the latest songs or the random 12 while I'm doing something else and then when something comes on that hits the spot, I comment. Perhaps 64Guitars can implement a random last month function - that would be cool.

The thing of most frustration to me though, when I was a teenager, all I had was a cheap electric and a cassette recorder, I managed to produce recordings using a friends cassette record and bouncing tracks - and then building amps for reclaimed electronics, build fuzz boxes etc. Now I've got gear that I only dreamed about then, and no real time to use. Life's a bitch sometimes!

Oh - and I like Hook make a point to listen when I post. I can't expect others to listen and comment if I don't - so at least a 2 to 1 - although I do try and listen to a least 1 a day, even if I'm not posting. Also I follow links to those who have bothered to comment (not on mine) - and listen to their last recordings.
