This the story of The Nairobi Trio, a skit from the old Ernie Kovak's TV show.  Mostly old timers will relate and know of them.  Kiddie beat, choppy words added, I call it New School Vig Hop. Lyrics are
The Nairobi Trio

There was a skit
on the old Ernie Kovaks Show
Featuring three guys
Dressed in monkey costumes
and they were called The Nairobi Trio

They played "Solfeggio" by Robert Maxwell
And the member standing
Used the middle player's hat for drums
Bringing forth a slow burn

It was funny, very funny
They performed like robots
Except when the third monkey
Broke a vase over the first monkey's head

No one said anything
But if they had
They would have said
Ow, ow, ow! Stop banging on my head.

Ha Vig! I'm showing my age but I do remember the Ernie Kovak's show and The Nairobi Trio broadcast in B&W TV. They were very mechanical in their movements....you have a wild musical mind Vig....but please don't bang me on the head, ow, ow, ow, lol.

Stop banging on my head was a spontaneous hook that I stumbled onto, even ended up rhyming.  And it was just enough to push it over 2 minutes.  Thanks for the listen and review. Yep, it was one of the last b&w shows.  It was an esoteric brand of humor that I didn't always get the point of at the time.
