Drums sound stellar.  The whole thing sounds great.  Loved the lead tone.  Was that the Casino?  And through what?

Great post.

Thanks Vig, Andy, and Blooby!

Blooby: The lead guitar is the Casino. It was a very noisy day in the neighborhood when I found the window to lay down the lead guitar track. So instead of using a mic'ed up tube amp, which I prefer, I used the next best thing I have which is a SansAmp GT2 modeler pedal set on Classic Calif. Hotwired sound. I ran that into an RNC Compressor and to another pre-amp into the board direct. This along with the already sustaining Casino's P90 pups gave me the never ending sustain I was after.  I just dialed in the tone with the guitar's and the SansAmp's tone controls.

Thanks Blooby!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

I actually have that same Sansamp pedal squirreled away.  Must break it out one of these days.

Thanks for the tip.

As for the RNC, I was just looking at their RN Leveling Amp, which also has compression.  Any thoughts?

Blooby, I've looked at FMR Audio's RN Leveling amps also. They are the predecessor to the RNC compressor. I've read the difference between the two is that the RNL colors the sound (in a good way) and the RNC doesn't (in a good way). They discontinued the RNL for the coloring reason but re-introduced it because they started getting requests for it because of the great sound folks were getting from it. I still would like to get one even though my RNC has been a studio work horse but is very invisible. Sometimes it's good to color the sound a little with compression. The RNC is my go to compressor. I have a couple (DBX and ART Pro Channel) that cost more and are supposed to be better but the proof is in the pudding. They are good compressors but I'll take the RNC any day over them. It's the best $175 I've spent on a signal processor, I use it on everything. I don't think you can go wrong with FMR Audio's products....they are quality though out.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I recently got a Joe Meek ThreeQ, so I'll have to play with that a bit.  I know it's not very transparent, though, so you've already intrigued me with the RNC.

Gas can be so ridiculous.

Blooby - Here's a link to youtube clip that compares the RNLA to the RNC. It's a great video demo of the difference in sounds the two produce. You can here the coloring of the RNLA and the transparency of the RNC. I thought it would be of interest to you. BTW the Joe Meek ThreeQ is a great compressor.
