Quote from: Rata-tat-tat on April 19, 2012, 11:24:46 AMHolly Crap them drums sound good FJ... Did you mix them??? I will have some questions if so!!! This is exactly what I have been trying to acheive in my recordings and have come close... but not quite of this quality. This is a killer tune bro... Love it!!!

Hey thanks so much for listening Mark, Side Effect, Rata, Bruno, Tony, Kari, Hook, and ORH!

Rata-tat-tat: Bud did the drum recording/engineering at his place in Canada. He then sent me the stereo tracks. They were already well balanced so all I had to do was enhance their sound some. I spread them left and right at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions and threw a double effect on both tracks which allowed them to cover the entire stereo field but still maintain separation. I then eq'd the right side by dropping some highs and boosting the lows slightly. This gave the kick and toms a lot of presence in the mix without losing the snare and cymbals . Oh, I threw on a little reverb on the right side drums to round the edges off the eq'd track. That's what I did but it was something new I was trying. I'm not a drummer so it's great hear they sounded good to your drummer ears!

Thanks again all,

Thanks Gnasty and Greeny, I'm glad you like it! There are still some things I would like to fix with this song but at some point it has to be called done....so I'm calling it done for now and moving on to the next song idea. Thanks guys!

And YOU want ME to write you some lyrics?  Good grief!  These are rather pithy lyrics and well-crafted.  They have that "been there, done that" quality about them.  The music is good, but these lyrics are killer.  Vc

Been trying to listen to this for a week or so, finally got there, and oh my, oustanding again Farrell! I can't add anymore to all the great feedback you've had, but honestly it's a real pleasure to sit down and listen. Those drums sound great btw, but for me it's your guitar and especially your vox that are oustanding
