This is the second instrumental that I attempted on the BR 800 last year. I was playing with the unit trying to figure it out. Have a listen. I couldn't resist using the "spacey" effect on the lead guitar and tonnes of "chorus" on the flute and harp. The flute almost sounds like a set of keys. For the bass I used my electric guitar and used the transpose function on the BR. Man one had to be carefull not to hit two notes at once or it went BUUUURRP.

nice one tony this tune sounds like something warm and familiar tho i've never heard it before. my only critique is the drums need a bit more variation.

Nice one Tony, the best way to get to know any equipment is to play with it and you've turned up with a very nice collage of sounds and melodies. Excellent...............Willie

Your absolutly correct. I started playing around with the BR 800  built in drum editing last night. I think I finnaly figured it out. It's not that difficult after all. I'm going to have to master this utility and re-mix all my songs over again. This will keep me busy for a while.

i am not familiar with the br800, but i know that there is a drum editor you can use with it, i think maybe geir or 64guitars could help on that.

I think I'm getting the concept. I will play some more tonight. The next challenge is to be artisic with it and enhance the tunes.

Enjoyed this - its got lots of appeal.
Keep working and posting, you will find loads of tips around the board.
And good drum programming can put you up another level. Just record on a basic track and then drop in a few fills at the vital spots afterwards. Then move on to the next stage once you have settled into that.

Hi GeoFF. I was putting something together for Jim amd bu gosh...I think I got it. The drum machine within the BR 800 is actually easy to use as you suggest. It only took me a couple of hours on a new piece I was working on and it came out OK. I got the hang of it.

I wrote a guide to the BR Rhythm Editor software here:

It's not quite finished but there's quite a lot of info there anyway.

Quite detailed. I see you put some effort into this. I have had a peak at the BR Rhythm Editor software. I will explore further.

Much appreciated 64.
