I have been a Guinness man for twenty years or so, but around the cold weather, I whip up a batch of a friend's recipe for Irish Cream.  Holy moly, this stuff is good.

In a blender whip together:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup 1/2 and 1/2 cream
2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
1/4 teaspoon of coconut extract
1 egg (optional)
1/2 cup (or more) of Maker's Mark

Shake well before imbibing.

To keep with the spirit of local fare, I wish I could get the Alaskan Brewing Company's Stout. I really enjoyed it while visiting there, and I don't even see it on their web site (sigh). This past weekend, I had some Brooklyn Chocolate Stout, which is much yummier than its name would suggest. I was on my third, waiting for a meal when I realized how toasty I was. Turns out to be 10%.

GOOD THREAD!

Been having a few of these recently. Quite nice...

And I revived a taste for these kriek beers whilst in Belgium. Yes, they are a bit gay. But very cherry, lol. They are known as lambic beers... "Unlike conventional ales and lagers, which are fermented by carefully cultivated strains of brewer's yeasts, lambic beer is produced by spontaneous fermentation: it is exposed to the wild yeasts and bacteria that are said to be native to the Senne valley, in which Brussels lies. It is this unusual process which gives the beer its distinctive flavour: dry, vinous, and cidery, usually with a sour aftertaste".

An all-time fave of mine though is this Cuban stuff. I wonder when I will drink it again?!  ::)

I'll literally drink anything though. Even Barley Wine, lol.
