Sara Blasko is an aussie singer-songwriter.

She seems to be someone you either love or hate.  I love the dynamics of this song.  If you can play it through a decent hi fi you will get the thrill I got when I first heard this.

Thanks to 64Guitars for showing me how to post a Youtube window here.

The Wellingtons are a Melbourne band that are currently touring around the world but under the radar.  I heard them on the local indie radio station 3RRR and I went out and bought the CD.

You can stream 3RRR from here: http://www.rrr.org.au/programs/streaming/ if you want a sample of the best radio station in the world!!!!

The Wellingtons have tapped into a pretty good genre and are doing it well.

I love this. The rhythm reminds me of "The Dreaming" by Kate Bush and the vocals remind me of Feist.

Had me fooled for a while there - although I couldn't quite believe it.  Almost started to see the boys in a different light...

Sai you really shouldn't have introduced me to this stuff.  Iwont get anything done now.  Just listened to the death metal version on "How Deep is Your Love" by the BeeGees.  Awesome...

There's been a spate of singers in the last couple of years with this same vocal affect.  It's like a dash of Ethel Merman.  Does anybody know if there's a name for this kind of singing?
