I'm not sure what possessed me to Youtube this tune, but I can't believe how greasy, funky, and impossibly behind the beat this is. I seem to remember Stevie Wonder actually writing this.

A great example of a song that I didn't give a chance when it came out, and I now realize what a narrow-minded little progpunk I was.

Hi All. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Thank you for the You Tube links. We used to play " Gang Bang" by SAHB" it's one hell of a way to provoke political comment. Willie

Tom Lehrer was a bit before my time, but he's a hero for two reasons:  (1) He's wickedly funny, and (2) he didn't give a damn about celebrity and preferred to go back to being a college professor, teaching math to liberal arts majors.

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_LehrerLehrer's musical career was brief; in an interview in the late 1990s, he pointed out that he had performed a mere 109 shows and written 37 songs over 20 years. Nevertheless, he developed a significant cult following both in the U.S. and abroad.

Now that's a prolificacy to which I can relate.

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park!  Now there's a song I can relate to.  Bloody things keep crapping on my car - normally just after I've washed it.  The thing is I rarely wash cars - but they wait until I do.

I off to the chemist's...

This is such an awesome song. I'm sad I only just bought this album after 42 years. I missed a lot of years of listening to it. This is the stunning opening track...
