Quote from: Geir on April 06, 2012, 04:10:27 AMFinally we get to hear the voice of God (or 64G as we like to call him here ;D )

Yes, it is the voice of reason. I'll always use the festival icon now!  8)

Everybody! ;D

Quote from: Gnasty on April 05, 2012, 09:24:52 PMIs that the Godin if i`m not mistaken i think you have?

No. My Godin xtSA is my main guitar, but I decided to use my 1975 Gibson L6S Midnight Special for a change on this one. It's a good guitar but I don't like the neck. It's too narrow for me. This photo is not mine but it looks the same. All maple, with Gibson humbuckers designed by Bill Lawrence.

Quote from: Gnasty on April 05, 2012, 09:24:52 PMOk that`s you slapping your leg, so i have to ask is that your voice too? :D

Yep. That's my voice. Awful, isn't it? Just be glad I didn't try to sing. :)

Quote from: Mojo1961 on April 05, 2012, 11:49:39 PMCool, I like the tone of that guitar. Is that one of the 864's built in effects or is it external?

It's the BR-864's COSM effects. I created the patch from scratch. I don't recall the settings but I did save the patch, so I can post the settings if anyone's interested.

Quote from: Mojo1961 on April 05, 2012, 11:49:39 PMThat tone load? for the rhythm, I'm trying to get a handle on it reading in the BR-600 manual but it's a hard read. Can you just sample a sound to one of the tracks and then transfer it to a specific pad and then compose your own pattern or is it done externally first?

Yes, it's tone load. There are several ways you can load drum samples. You can copy a drum sound from one of your tracks. You can copy a sample from one of the preset drum kits. Or you can load a WAV file sample. I recorded the slap on the BR-864. But instead of copying it directly from the track, I exported it to a WAV file using BR Wave Converter. Then I trimmed the sample in Audacity and loaded it back into the BR as a WAV file. I just find it easier and more accurate to trim it in Audacity.

Quote from: Hook on April 06, 2012, 04:32:19 AMMy bet is you can sing this song like there was no tomorrow with that rich voice!

That's a bet you'd lose, I'm afraid. I can't sing to save my life. No pitch control at all, unfortunately. So I'll stick to guitar and leave the singing for those who can sing. Fortunately, there are lots of great singers here at Songcrafters for me to call on when I need a vocal track.

Yes, that is indeed it!  A song of great social and political importance.  Love it 64G!  I bet you coulda sung the stuffing out of this too.  Sprekenstem [?] - 'speak singing'.  DD

Thanks for listening!

Lovely listen. I enjoyed the tone as well, and the sampling of the slap was clever.

Guitar-wise, I think we are moving in opposite directions. I am seriously thinking of dumping my Godin xtSA (along with the GR-33), and I am thinking about having a buddy build a guitar in the shape of a Gibson L5S with some Seymour Duncan P-Rails in it.

Go figure.

No. Only five. That question has been asked here several times. Maybe I should put it in the FAQ. :)

My current collection consists of (only) a Godin xtSA (my main guitar), an Ibanez RS-525, the Gibson L6S Midnight Special, a Gibson EB0 bass, and a cheap old Stella with a broken neck.
