Not really sad unless he was in bad health and suffered on the way out. The only thing we know for sure is that we all die one day. 88 is not a bad innings, and Jim could face his final days secure in the knowledge that he single handedly helped create modern rock music and was respected by the greatest rock musicians in the world. Now that was a life worth living!

So farewell Jim, and for me Marshall have always been, and for ever will be, the best amps in the world! I have never been able to beat the metal panelled JMP 50 I bought second hand in about 1979, I so wish I still had that amp.

RIP

I met him too, years ago, lovely chap.

And a fine, fine contribution to rock music (took some good pics as well). So I'm with Ferryman - doesn't make feel personally sad, he had a good innings. I do hope everything was peaceful etc for him, and my thoughts are with family and loved ones.

Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
