I was going to plop this update in the other post, and then I realized John (Lurker) posted the other one.

When we recorded the acoustic version, I made us play to a click with the thought that I would add some frilly bits to it when I had some time. Hauled my guitar synth out of the closet, and tried the steel guitar app.  In the end, I chucked them both and settled for some simple bass and volume swells.

John's voice in very front and center...perhaps too much, but I wanted to feature the singer and lyrics.

Peace.

p.s.-Greeny, you are my hero for using that steel guitar app.  I almost threw my phone several times today.

That vocal delivery is about as good as it gets John. What an incredible listening experience. I'm glad I'd not heard the original, it's all that much better without other versions cluttering the memory banks. Wow!

You da men.

Like both of you. I envy your acoustic skills and I envy John's voice.

Bloody hell! That bass sounds fab!

F*cking gorgeous. I've recently followed this song through it's many covers, and trust me, this version stands up to anything. You took a fine piece of songwriting and stamped some real talent and quality on it. The beautiful, simple arangement lets that voice fly so high and clear. And your guitar work is flawless as always.

p.s. I dumped the standalone pedal steel app - the one on Thumbjam is much better. It does take a bit of work to get it sounding decent, so I understand your frustrations!

Yes, I love it. Sweet guitar and a voice from heaven!

You sure John didn't sing for Frank Zappa back in the day?

Peace,

Mark

Tasty cover guys , I like this approach of putting the singer out front , and the subtleness of the backing guitars comes through enough to keep you listening to both , very nice indeed
