This is truely a blast for the past.....It was recorded 43 years ago!

This was recorded in a high school gym in 1969 with a portable mono cassette player. This was my very first, 5 member band, called Hannah. We had been playing about two years at this point. Three of us were 17 years old (organ, bass, guitar) and the other guitarist was 15.....the drummer was 14. I switched to guitar after this band  but I started as a bass player and singer. I'm playing bass and singing on this song.

I did extensive noise removal, eqing, and balancing to get it to a listenable state. It's still very rough but if you had heard the original recording for comparison you would hear the improvement. This brings back those first teenage band memories. It has a lot of warts in the singing and performances but hey...we were just kids and still learning. I thought you might get a kick out our arrangement of this blast from the way, way back past.

This completely kicks ass. I absolutely loved it.

What happened to all those tom fills from the days of yore?

Hell yeah! I thoroughly dug this big time! I hope many more of the members here take the time to listen, a great performance that would blow today's teenager's efforts out of the water.

A seriously cool blast from the past!

Thanks Bloopy, Mark, LG, FuzzFace, Rob, Gnasty and Geir for sharing my musical memories with me!

Geir - Yeah the drummer was only 14...he was the organ players younger brother. He went on to become a great drummer but the partying and drugs rotted out his teeth and mind...too bad. He's now a truck driver. I still have contact, now and then, with the boys of summer......we're all still teenagers in our minds, lol!

This is/was really good not heard the Vanilla Fudge version before, I like it.

The drummer sounds like Ginger Baker.

Great job of fixing this recording up.
