Hey there folks. This is my first post here at microrecorders.org. I figured I'd just bust in, guns blazing straight up.
My name as I prefer to be known in the music making world is General Blaspheme. I am the only member of the project Pogrom from Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
All the recordings I've done have been on my handy Boss Micro BR, and it has made my life so much better. I can record any idea I get, and decide if it works or not that way. Plus, the effects are pretty sweet, the rhythms are effective, and best of all, I have now found a community pretty much dedicated to it and its use.
So anyway, the song I am posting here is called "The Wolf in the Fog", and I am quite proud of it. I wrote the lyrics one Thursday, and a couple days later I had recorded some music that the lyrics would have fit with perfectly.
Hope you enjoy it,
General Blaspheme/Pogrom

OOoh - all a bit rocky horror!

Needs some drums and evil guitars though.
Cool to see something in this style.

He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy!

Greeny

Dark indeed. The sound of pure evil about to devour your ripped-out but still-beating heart  :D

Good title too.

Interesting, evocative and off-the-wall stuff. What a great way to announce yourself!  :)

Actually, there is guitar going on, but it's slow, and obviously it's more of a bass driven song. The guitar follows the bass, and is tuned the same, drop C
The reason I don't have drums is simple: no drum machine. YET.

As for oldrottenhead, thank you for the comments. I will post the lyrics, definately. Just see below...

Flash Harry and Greeny: Thanks as well. It's great to actually have comments on your work, rather than at MySpace where the only stuff you get in your inbox is "Thanks for the add! Check out my stuff here!"

So, without further ado, the lyrics:

The Wolf in the Fog
Fog enshrouds my being
As I walk the nighttime enrobed trees
Snow falls lightly onto still-warm autumn leaves
Stars visible above through the bare canopy
I can sense, but not hear, the wolf that follows me
Then in my heart he whispers, ever so silently
Then in my heart he whispers, ever so violently
Reject the ways of Christ and reign eternally
Reign FREE

They are actually in the properties section of the MP3 itself as well.
I have more tracks available for your listening pleasure, some not so grim and blackened, at reverbnation.com/Pogrom666

Put the MP3 player up for you.  Holy crap that is dark.  It almost makes my skin crawl.  Brilliant in its way.  Lets have some more.  I would like to hear some melodic guitar over this to balance the dark terror.  Just my opinion.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

I'm sorry General Blaspheme/Pogrom,i assumed you were using a micro BR,these come with drums. There is another section for other recording devices.
I only try to give constructive critism. ;D
I'm thinking of trying some black metal tracks myself, minus the vocals 'cause i'd probably make a hash out of it  ;)

If you have a Micro BR, then you do have a drum machine. It's built-in. You can't create your own custom patterns with it but you can chain together any of the 327 built-in patterns in whatever combinations and tempos you like. See section 4 of the Micro BR manual, as well as these pages:

I use the drum machine part for another of my projects, but not for Pogrom. To be honest, I hate the sounds of them. Good for grindcore, but not black metal. Too generic for my tastes. Plus, the fact that they are not customizable... well... turns me off.
