Quite psychedelic-leaning when it gets going.

It starts with a little classical piece I composed from scratch on my phone (ThumbJam), using a mellotron, cello, violin and dulcimer samples - all in a Hungarian Gypsy scale (a like this scale a lot...  :D). I could really get into this kind of composition.

Then there's my Danelectro, bass, and more mellotron strings. They are a weird sound, but give you those Beatleseque psychedelic swells and dives. I think I love them, lol.

All done on the MBR and iPhone then stitched together in Audacity.

Sorry for not being around - been stupidly busy with work in the last 2-3 weeks  :)

p.s. The title is slang from 1811 for a loser.

Title track from yet another new album.

Wow Yeah Greeny Monday rules!

I love that thumbjam intro to pieces but when that Danelectro kicks in is what does it for me.
The modes on the Thumbjam are surreal arent they. When you practice do you loop em together
or do you play 2 at a time or record to br? Theres so much you can do with it. Love this song Tim. Your
postings are top notch!

I do use the loop function - In this case though it was one long loop that I used for multitracking the different layers. Otherwise I just record different instruments live straight on the MBR via Line-in. I'm getting handier with using more than one finger on it too - nice polyphonic depth.

I haven't really scratched the surface with what ThumbJam can do. To have something like this on a phone is science fiction. Mindblowing!

And yeah - that clown picture is really freaky!

Mindblowing is right! I jammed with a sweet lady last week with a sweet voice. I told her to tell
me the chords to one of her songs and she started playing it. I pulled out the thumbjam
and started playing viola to her performance. She was just floored. i wish i got a pic of her face!..lol

Yes, it is Greeny monday :) . I'm on my third listening and this brilliant piece from Greeny's musical world! I love the violin/mellotron intro; just a genius! The chorus is fantastic. So many layers on this and everything works well! Into Greeny 2012 folder for sure!

Psychedelic, I suppose!  :D   Amazing, the tools you used to cobble this wonder together.  Real pro guitar work too. Really love the harmonies and textures as the chorus starts each time.  The swirly strings and backmasking at the end are very Beatle-esque. Mighty fine job!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I don't know how many times I've said this, but "this is my new greeny favourite" !!!

Excellent melody, excellent arrangement and performance, and yes, like hooper I find this  very Beatle-esque.

You had to know I was going to love this - not just Greeny Monday, but Psychedelic Greeny Monday!

What an interesting scale...I must check this Thumbjam out some day! Love the Mellotrons, the Danelectro, the overall Beatley feel, and the phrase that inspired the song. Superb!
