"Born Of A Broken Soul"

I sent Andy this basic rhythm track and he transformed it into
a fantastic song and performance.  I am once again humbled by
yet another incredibly talented SongCrafter.

Andy,

I thank you for your time and patience and working with me
on this collaboration.

Loved this track from word go, but took a while to shape some ideas, and love the mix you have put together Kenny, thanks very much for writing and sharing,it's a fab mix and I love the way it has turned out!
Thanks also for the kind comments fellas, it's really Kenny's hard work but I do appreciate it as well!

Wow, every now and again you come across a song on this site which just stops you in your tracks, and this is another example.

This is an immense song guys, fantastically structured and you can tell that there has been some serious thought and work put into it.

Love all the guitar work, and in particular the riff in the intro and chorus which matches the vocal melody, very clever idea and perfectly executed

The production really stands out to, everything sounds at just the right level and that superb vocal sits in the mix perfectly.

Two listens, and going back for more!

Thanks all for listening and all the great comments.  Really
appreciate them all.   I've really gotta hand it to Andy though.
I was worried it needed another part when I sent it to him, but
after he created the perfect hook with his vocals and matching
guitar riffs and perfectly recorded effects ... well ... I just did
my best to leave them intact and not mess anything up!!!  ;D

Oh yeah ... This is my first idea that started on the MBR!  ;D
I did the rhythm guitars and bass then moved them to
the Zoom, redid the drums and mixing etc.  My only concern
was that I mastered it too hot.  I'm still not sure if it's clipping
or it's my ringing ears ... any comments are always welcome.

It's clipping. Here's how it looks in Audacity. Red indicates clipping.

I would suggest that you get into the habit of always loading your finished master into Audacity to check for clipping. If there's lots (as in this case), then you know you had your recording level too high during mastering and you can try it again with a slightly lower level.
