The lyrics are not too deep but the melody is classic.

Hook

I'm a huge Mel Torme fan and you've done a nice job with this. Very chill, I'm so use to the bounce, but It's a very nice listen.
Rock on!

Ooooo. The velvet fog! Nice one.

One suggestion I'd make is to try some compression on the bass track. It's varying in level quite noticeably. I'm not usually a big fan of compression (especially in mastering) but I do use it on my bass tracks. I'm not the best bass player so I don't always play as smoothly as I'd like (level-wise) and compression helps to even out the levels.

Another factor could be the strings. When I first got my bass, the guy I bought it from had changed one of the strings and that string always sounded louder and brighter than the others. I eventually put a new set on and my bass playing sounded much smoother.

Appreciate your help 64 Guitars
I'll try some compression next time. I think you are right about the strings also.
But you know what it's like, you get a new toy and just can't wait to play with it.

I miss the Velvet Fog (perhaps the greatest nickname).

Excellent job on this one.

I've never heard Mel Torme sing this song.  After listening to this, I don't really care.  I like it.  This is the version I will remember.
