Another old favorite. Too bad the band met such a tragic end.

Man Speed demon you are on a roll....a rock n' roll! You have nailed this Skynyrd song and "you got that right".....that main guitar solo is hot and accurate!

Thanks, Farrell.

I've gotten in a lot of practice on the slide. Really needed it to make this song sound like the original. The rest of the guitar work is fairly easy. Of course, everything is easy if you've played it enough times over the years.

This sounds awesome man! What are the details to this recording, I know nothing about your e band thing and would love what you've played vs generated (if that's indeed what you've done?), I'm assuming at least the guitars and vocals are you, and they rock out man!
Rock on!

Thank you, Hook.

The eBand works basically like the Boss BR, except it has only a single input for everything.
I generate a drum track first, on the DR-880. This gives me my timing.
I load that track into Adobe Audition for playback, then match a rhythm track to it on the eBand.
I sometimes use two rhythm tracks for fullness.

Next is the bass track, matched to the playback of these tracks.
Next is the guitar solo track, or multiple tracks, depending on the effect I want to achieve.

I have an upright piano also, but electric keyboard and horn sounds are done on a guitar synthesizer.

And finally, the vocal tracks.

All tracks are recorded, one at a time, into the eBand, then transferred to the computer for final editing and mixdown. Special effects are added during this process. I prefer to make the recordings as clean as possible and add effects last. I have numerous plugins for Audition that allow me to create any type of effect I care to use. From mild to wild.

Sounds like a lot of work but its easier than my description makes it appear.
I've developed numerous presets in the eBand, and in Audition, that cover every instrument and vocal style I like to use so setup time is zero. I just select an appropriate preset and have at it.

Listen to my version of Low Rider. Pay attention to the vocal. I achieved the doubled effect by using a plugin called a Harmonizer. It allows me to fine-tune stereo tracks individually, in one cent increments.
That is one one-hundredth of a semi-tone. Does nice things for vocals and instruments.

And that is my bag of magic tricks.

Man your one hell of a musician! I have enjoyed your posts in the past, but incorrectly assumed that e band implies some pre-recorded tracks (manipulable) supplied by boss ( my humble apologies!). Your playing is all spectacular and I'm blown away by your piano skills. You've mixed this well but I love that piano and I would pull it up.
Rock on!

Hook, actually I removed a third of the piano track from this tune. You don't hear it at all during the slide solo.

The eBand does contain in-built instrument sounds but they are just repetitive licks and I didn't find them to be useful at all. I prefer to play everything myself.

I just re-listend and I don't miss them under the solo but I do miss them in the next verse, love them at the end!

Good point. I should put the piano back in the last verse. I left it out for clarity purposes but it does leave a hole in the music. Good catch.

Wait a minute, is that your piano or are you doing that track with a guitar synth?
