after a lengthy absence beleg appeared today and posted this. https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=14620.msg183189#msg183189

i had some lyrics written down, had a melody in my head but not had a chance to do anything. then i saw belegs post i though i wonder if i can get em to fit.

so i had a try.
well you could do so much
even with so little
you could build an empire
with your hands

and though your skin was pale
and your bones where brittle
you could go to war
and risk your life

you did it for your country
you did it for your king
but when you got back home
you said brothers
somethings gotta change
round here

you could do so much
even with so little
fed a family of nine
from a ration book

you saw your betters for what they where
hard and brittle
and you took it from them
for the people

you did it for your country
you did it for the kids
when you got back home
you said brothers
somethings gotta change
round here

well you could do so much
even with so little
you could make a home
a land for all

and now the kids are healthy
no more bones so brittle
they can go to work
and live their lives in peace

you did it for your country
you did it for the kids
when you got back home
you said brothers
somethings gotta change
round here
somethings gotta change
you said brothers

just a note, thought i`d bump this..

the fridge pop, and the change, and the lyric. i`m just a listener, but this has risen from the ashes..so to speak.
like I say I`m just a listener but really enjoyed it.

yeah, I'm digging this. What effect did you use on the Vocal Jim? it fit the music very well. Great lyrics, and the music was fantastic to listen to.

i used the guitar setting 22 st steel for the vocal and recorded it to two tracks panned 25 left and 25 right.

the lyric is about guys like my grandad who grew up in slums during the depression in abject poverty, when there was a great divide between the haves and the havenots.

they then fought in the second world war, and when they came back they said "no more" , we are all in this together.

cue a landslide labour victory and the creation of the welfare state. i am sure he is turning in his grave at the site of our country being run by the elite privileged upper classes again.

Very cool collaboration. The music is super cool and serene, kinda reminds me of some old cure mixed with some Death Cab For Cutie! Super duper vocal-brother tell your mother, both of you!!
Rock on!
