We must All have seen posts that we like but don't necessarily want to reply to.
Is the Forum software available to create a 'Like' button??

I've thought about having an "Add to Favourites" button and a separate jukebox for each member's favourites. It's a lot of work but I might do it someday.

What we don't want is any kind of competition or voting on songs because that can make some members feel unappreciated and left out. So you won't see anything like "This song was 'Liked' 57 times." Also, if we make it too easy to indicate that you like a song, I'm afraid that very few people would comment. Why go to the trouble of typing a comment when you can simply click a "Like" button instead?

64Gs, ah I can see your point. I wasn't so much thinking about the uploaded songs on the Forum, as to opinion posts with which you might Like/Agree with but not want to reply to. Oh well.

the total number of views isn't exactly accurate, or remotely close. Nor is the number of times your song was "downloaded"

Take this for example: https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=7468.0

I know for fact that it didn't have 980 views from members, It also got plenty of bot hits as well. I am pretty certain that it wasn't downloaded 96 times as well. I'm not too sure how the forum statistics work, but they are most definitely not exact.

As far as a "Like" button, there is already a similar function built into the forum software, and I'm in 100% agreement that nothing good will come of it. I don't feel a need to debate my stance any further at this time.

I hate that "Like" crap, it just seems really stupid, if your going to do a button do a "I farted" button or "Blow Me" button! In fact buttons are stupid, I didn't even like the rock button crap back in the '80's....no buttons!!!.......... alright I don't care, do a button, In fact let's have a bunch of buttons, "Like" "Kinda Like" "Just Friends" "Maybe ;)"

Tony, I downloaded that song at least 52 times!
Every view is real, every download counts and I want them all! HA HA HA HA HA (we need an evil laugh emoticon!) !!!!!!

Totally agree with 64guitars. 'Like' buttons may work on other parts of the web, but it would just be a lazy cop-out on the 'post your work' sections here. Any retard / chimp (no offence to chimps - I love them!) can hammer a like button, but it takes some effort to write a considered reply or comment. I see it as a reward for the effort you put into the song. And it would invariably lead to bad feeling or feelings of inadequacy.

If I like a song, I try to tell the artist why I like it.

When I said I wasn't going to debate my stance, this is what I had in mind.... Well said Tim.
