Wasn't much music on the day - did some nice painting in the bedroom though.

Then we went for a late curry and some well earned beers. Possibly the last one in the restaurant that's been my local for over 10 years... 

Next day was the move itself, and it's all been a blur since then. I have an amp and guitar set up downstairs, so I can have a strum when time (and my woefully tired/injured hands and fingers) allow.

The music room is almost finished, except I hit a snag on the last lap. I was putting the boards back after the rewire, ready for covering with hardboard and then carpet tiles... and then some idiot put a nail through a central heating pipe!!!  I think I've fixed it, but the room itself went on hold. And now this weekend is devoted to bedroom floor (so that it's ready before the bed arrives).

Alas, no recording gear can be unpacked until the music room floor is ready. I'm hoping to do the hardboard stuff while varnish coats are drying in the main bedroom. But I'm so knackered I'll probably use drying time to lie on one of our excellent new sofas downstairs listening to music and gazing at the ceiling that needs painting!!!

Unless you don't know which of the boxes stacked in the other room it's packed in! I've got a good idea which set of stuff it's in, but I haven't really got room (or energy) to move any of it yet!!

Getting the floor down in the music room means I can unpack and install the piano, the mixing desk, the monitors on their stands, shelf units, etc, etc. It's those things holding us up really (her as well as me). When that lot's done, we suddenly have a load more space in the other room - it nearly clears one side of the room - enough space to start unpacking stuff we've been looking for.

And of course, we're actually decorating downstairs at the same time

I know many of you guys would have had the MBR carefully packed with something that needed unpacking immediately (the underwear drawer maybe) - but I'm afraid I didn't think like that when I was taking the gear down weeks ago!...
