As for the chorus inside a chorus thing, I just loved them both and had to use them.
I tried to name them chorus and pre chorus etc.
Truth is, it's just one long chorus with a pace change during 2nd part of it.

Oh yeah as far as the "Voodoo Smile" album, who knows.
This makes the third year working on it.
The songs are getting better but I'm just not there yet.
