Thanks launched - yeah, am really, really pleased with the results so far. And Frank, don't be harsh on yourself - you did really great - for me it has absolutely the right feel for the track. Excellent playing and excellent feel. Playing remote is really tough as you don't have any visual indicators - and we are both learning what works and what doesn't, and Rome wasn't built in a day. The technology really worked - which is great - and here's to many more collaborations. Am really looking forward to doing Fire with you (assuming you want to), I think that would be very cool. Two late nights (1am) - means that I need a bit of a sleep tonight though :-).

Frank- I hope you liked the mix, and the sound of your drums - will mix in the vox next day or so. Incidentally what did you use for the recording?

I am completely freaked at the fact that I have just played music with someone 4000 miles away - how friggin' cool it that!

I am a very happy bunny!

for my drums i use a yamaha  mg102c - 10 channel mixer. seems to be doing better than the behringer i have which i use for all my other intruments and singing.

With added yodelling courtesy of phatasm777. Difficult to mix in the vox as so much sound, pushed them up as far as I could! Still - enjoy the craziness!

Goodness, this is pretty impressive. Great playing but needs more yodelling! Loving the guitar sounds, I must try the Soldano on the BR800. Obviously a labour of love, and it worked magnificently!

Update - just heard the new version with revised drums, sounds even better! Great work guys.

Cheers,

Nigel

hiya Nigel - thanks for the comment. Was trying to get the yodelling up in the mix - it was as loud as I could get it without distorting. Even EQ'd up highs and mids to make it more prominent, and taking the rest of the levels down, and losing the solo track during the vox - but particularly the low frequency vox kinda gets lost in the mix with the general wall of sound. Its not a volume thing though, cos the meter was showing max as compared to everything else - and even with compression (tried compression off and on - and various levels of compression), the end of the vocals tend to distort if you push the start up too high (if you get my drift). Any suggestions?

Wow ... Improved on 1st take or what!!
Great drums.
All's good to me. Maybe would've liked to hear some louder yodelling, but hey, you've done your best.

Just one thing. Do you think it's a litle slow?

Only kidding ... I can't think that fast, let alone play.

I am glad you said you were joking, don't think I could play it any faster without resorting to technical trickery!!!! I screwed up on the original beat - after I recorded it, I noticed it was set to 107.4 bpm. That's kind of a radio FM radio station frequency :-) I still may record the guitars as the are still all the originals, and some places doesn't quite sit right to my ears - but should probably leave it alone. Still as a first attempt at 'international musical collaboration' (that's what I telling everyone!!) - and was learning quite how things would work, am really happy.
