As phantasm777 (Frank) said we started playing in a band about 74 - the very first band was with a guy *obsessed* with playing Free Bird. Now that is an ok song but by take 1,056,231 ya kinda want a change....  So one night walking back home we decided the only hope was to form our own band.

Anyway - we played a lot of metal. As a guitarist I wasn't very good, and I couldn't play leads fast and my singing sucked. Besides that I couldn't play hardly anything like it was on a record. Nonetheless we had fun.

I went to college as a classical guitar / music theory major for a couple years and wow did that open my mind. At first I was in shock music was a college curriculum! So... I had two years of bliss and aced nearly every class. Learning about classical music was a blast especially when I made the connection that composers like Stravinsky, Charles Ives and contemporary classical composers wrote music as powerful as Tony Iommi in Sabbath and Page in Zeppelin. Back then I had to switch gears in my head to appreciate classical music or rock music (which at the time was Genesis with Gabriel, Yes, Gentle Giant, etc). I no longer have to do that and see a common thread in all music (almost. lets not mention radio disney for instance).

After a brief reunion with Frank I ended up getting married and isolated - making cassette albums shared only with a couple people. Then... the internet happened and the possibility of having an audience from your bedroom was a reality. I was really active in the late 90's and then got married again and music took a back set again until about 2007.

Now I write a lot of microtonal music, much of which is contemporary classical. I was serious about making a  career change with composing film and game music but I don't think that will happen now.

chris was here before me, and suggested i join here but welcome! one thing about our ealy history, i was kicked out cause i didnt wanna play freebird, still dont! then a short time later we formed a band named silver fox. :P

chris was a better guitarist then, thatn he admits. to this day i think he plays some great melodies, and writes great rock songs. far as other styles he does, i cannot comment, merely, like say classical styles, im no expert at, in that i dont listen so mums the word.

we always clicked well when we played together. i think the last time was about 1980 or so.
