Thanx for the great instructional. I'm new to the site and new to the BR. You explained everything quite well. I haven't done mastering on the BR yet... after watching your video it's sounds like something I need to take a look into. So far I haven't let the BR do many of the things it's capable of... I look forward to your next instructional. I could use some tips on getting a good acoustic sound... Are you going to be covering acoustic drum tracks??? If so... I'm all ears... this will be my next BR challenge for myself.

Thanks again

T,

Welcome. I think a tutorial on using the built in mic would be great. It's actually a very good little mic. If you listen to some of the track here by Jim (OldRottenHead) you'll hear just how good he has been able to get it to sound.

In the meantime, the best way to mic drums with the Micro (don't laugh) is to turn the unit upside down and position it directly above the drummer's head or above the drummer's head and slightly in front. Traditionally when micing a drum kit, this is probably the best place to put a single mic.

As to how you put it there is another story. Having someone hold it is probably not the best option. There have been some discussions about mounting the Micro. One technique used a wood table leg to craft the shape of microphone and then attached the Micro to it with velcro. This would allow the Micro to be attached upside down on a boom. A simpler way to do this in a practice space that's used frequently may be to rig strings from the ceiling and attach thick rubberbands that could suspend the unit upside down. You'll have to get creative here.

Thank you for the videos!! I would have been a little lost in the beginning without your help!
You made it seem easy which is the sign of a great teacher!

You're a lot easier to understand than the manual! This is so helpful to a beginner. You deserve an award or something!

Hi there!
Just wanted to congratulate you for the videos.
I've been thinking about getting a digital 4-tracker, and while checking them out I've found the videos on youtube (and that's how I've found this forum).
Keep 'em comin!

Cheers

I watched these earlier today on youtube and posted some thanks there, but would like to reiterate that. Thanks very much, and your English is good, and your style clear and friendly.

What more could one want?
