I've been playing around with this mandolin riff for the last few weeks and the song came out a few days ago.
3 mandolin tracks, 2 vocal tracks, bass & br drums.

At the end of the cul-de-sac  
There was a trail & it led back
Through the bushes & trees
We always kept it free of leaves

Race against the rain & a lightning flash
It reminds that this isn't child's play

                 I wonder if that trails still there
                 I spent most of my childhood there
                 Pedals, 2 wheels & a chain
                 I want to ride those trails again

I've set myself up states away
& I haven't been back since I left that day
I'm sure so much has changed
But I hope that place has stayed the same

A labor of love our reason to live
Rakes & shovels, a bunch of little kids
With a place to call our own
These woods were like our home

Looks like I'll be heading to VA this summer so I'll get to find out if that trail is still there!

 that's an excellent Mandolin riff ...not long back I went back to the village Im from and the track we used to play and ride on was still there, walking it bought a lot of happy memories flooding back as did this tune thanks....you Hooked me again

Really nice tune Hook. Easy to relate to for me as well...trails and forts were a huge part of my childhood

The mando is so happy...at times it sounds almost like steel drums and lends an almost Buffet like feel.

Your vox are excellent...all in all a fine piece or songwriting, performing, and recording. Great listen!

1st you steal my Ukulele thunder and now you contemplate an attempt on my Mandolin lightning! Do it brother 4 strings rock!
