Whiskey Wisdom- Original song.

Hello people. It has been a long long time since I posted on here, due to various reasons. I hope to post, review and share some of my music on a more regular basis from now on. I have been writing a lot of songs lately, just need to to get them down. This one is Whiskey Wisdom. Just a single take, me on acoustic and harmonica. Most of my songs are like that anyways. I am more into writing the songs than recording them if I am totally honest. I get more from that side of the creative process. Let me know what you think and I will be reviewing more of your great tunes soon.

Whiskey Wisdom

I sit here on this barstool my eyes heavy as lead
In the smoky haze of another lonely night
Too tired to think about the things in my head
Too numb to put up a fight
Its been two weeks now without you
And I don't know what I'm going to do

So pour me another finger pour me another drink
I don't want to remember i don't want to think
I don't want to know who was wrong who was right
I just need some whiskey wisdom tonight

I'm a long way from being OK and a long way from home
A broken man lost in so much pain
The day times not so bad i just sleep and dream
But in the night even the wind whispers your name
They say drinking helps you forget
Remembering's much worse than that

So pour me another finger pour me another drink
I don't want to remember i don't want to think
I don't want to know who was wrong who was right
I just need some whiskey wisdom tonight

She said what I was doing was hurting her so much
I should get some help or leave her alone
We both knew my drinking was becoming more than a crutch
So the next day I left our home
Now as I sit here and ask for one more
I can feel my life slipping to the floor

So pour me another finger pour me another drink
But I'll always remember and I'll always think
I know I was wrong I know you were right
Whiskey wisdom got me where I am tonight

A real good song Simon......I like the lyric/story a lot. I don't know if you're out performing but you should be if you're not. Sometimes simple and straight forward works....as it does here. Enjoyed it!
