"Vennskapets vann" a Geir & Osckilo original

It's been a while since I wrote a song in Norwegian, but Tharek insisted so here it is. The translation is a bit rough, but then so are the original lyrics

Vennskapets vann (the waters of friendship)

Jeg velger meg en virkelighet
med velfylte bord og varme kvelder
jeg vandrer i en verden
med vedfyrt vennskap
og kaffe på verandaen

Jeg dikter på en dagdrøm
med dufter av vin og varme dyner
jeg dveler ved en åpen dør
til høye fjell og djupe daler

Jeg synger om en solbrun hud
om svette bein og slørete blikk
jeg svever i en sotfull pipe
strekker meg mot det stummende mørke

jeg fabler om en fallen fugl
finner takta en fuktig kveld
jeg flyr over et kirkespir
farta øker mot et flammende fyr

Jeg preiker som et ustemt piano
peller ord som ikke passer inn
jeg plukker opp nedfalne plommer
og putter dem på plass
i plastglass med gin

Jeg velger meg en virkelighet
vill og verdig, vakker og varm
jeg velger meg en vilter verden

with well-stocked tables and warm evenings
I wander in a world
with wood-fired friendship
and coffee on the porch

I am a poet in a daydream
with the scent of wine and warm blankets
I dwell by an open door
to high mountains and deep valleys

I sing about a tanned skin
about sweating legs and blurred sight
I'm floating in a soot full pipe
stretch against the pitch-dark night

I babble about a fallen bird
find the beat a damp evening
I fly over a church spire
the speed increases towards a flaming lighthous

I preach like a piano out of tune
pick words that do not fit
I pick up the fallen plums
and put them in place
in plastic glasses of gin

I choose a reality
wild and dignified, beautiful and warm
I choose myself a wild world
far west of wrath
by the waters of friendship.

I don't care what language this is in, that voice is pure ear candy. The classical is so rich and full. Tharek, you and that Iphone sure make some quality soundscapes. Bliss.

I love this.  I really love the english translation, thats mystical poetry of the nth degree.  Fantastic.  Tharek's guitar sounds so warm here.  Great I-phone playing.  So thats what a Viking sounds like indeed.

Good to hear a song in your native tongue man. I wish I could do that (I can only speak English and jibberish).
