So I was like "Hey Britney, someone should do a full-on rock version of One More Time"
and she was like "oh, like that's original..."
and I was like "I'm gonna do it anyway"
and she was like "well you should"
and I was like "I'm gonna!"
and she was like "well, good for you!"

Then I was like "Britney? will you do a vocal part?"
and she was like "uhh - NO - d'uh"

oh

So I was like "Hit me Britney one more time?"
and she was like "what-ever...."

Such a sad song about masochism. You really got to the core of it emotionally.

FuzzFace

Hey, this is great!

Like, how many tracks are there?

Four guitar tracks - one acoustic, three electric (two of those stereo)
Four vocal tracks (all mono)
Two bass guitar tracks (one for each half of the song)
Stereo pair for the drum track

In all 14 tracks, two to spare.  Bitch to mix though on the Zoom since there are two banks of eight tracks and a switch to jump between them - with muting, un-muting, changing volumes across nearly all tracks and switching effects in and out I had to be an octopus.  Took many  attempts to get a mix I am (semi) happy with.  Now I really see the benefit of fader automation in a decent DAW application.

This feels like the prototype of the song I'd like it to be, but I don't think I can get it any better with the tools I'm using.

Luxury! My BR-864 has two banks of four tracks so I'm constantly switching back and forth between the banks and messing up the levels in the opposite bank. It's a nuisance. I tend to do a lot of bouncing. I keep just the bounced tracks in bank 2 and record all of my individual tracks in bank 1. When I'm done recording tracks, I export the individual tracks to WAV files and mix them in Audacity.

Great job on the song. And I love the text in your opening message. :)
