What is the Boss Looper?

I bought my micro BR two weeks ago and I'm just exploring its possibilities at the moment. In the future I'll use it mainly to record demos and practice.  :)

Oh, I see.

Back on topic: I think that there is a pretty underrated view of the Micro BR as to recording acoustic instruments. When I bought it I was really into recording electric instruments and enjoyed the ease of use of recording with Micro BR but now I'm into acoustic intruments and its just as good recording with it. Being with the built in mic or with the external microphones (which I like better). The next thing I'm going to try is to go outdoors and record how the world sounds and try to add them to my music.

Howdy all,

This little box helps bring the noises in my head out into the world. It is truly an amazing little gadget. Once I stop comparing it to my old Pandora PX4R, I'm sure I'll love it even more.

With that said, I mostly use it for songwriting, lick-learning, and band practice. It's so easy to record something and then email the tracks to the rest of the band so they can practice at home. Although I'm still fussing with getting a good sound out of the built-in mic, I just learned about adjusting sensitivity along with the input level so we'll see what happens. I think I will try using a better condensor mic hooked up to the PA with a monitor mix sent to the MicroBR. Stay tuned for how that works out...

I'm actually using mine to record songs/backing tracks from my computer that I have already processed through Cakewalk Home Studio.  I then output the Micro BR to 2 channels on my BR-864 which is in my studio in a different room than the computer.  This still leaves me 6 tracks to record guitar and vocals in the BR-864 without even using the virtual tracks and unhooking or lugging the computer or 864 from room to room.
Sorry, I accidentally posted this reply in another thread here, too about the type of microphone I use.  Not a very good start for just joining the forum yesterday!

I also have a BR-864 which is in a different room from my computer; even a different level of the house (BR-864 and instruments are downstairs; computer is upstairs). When I don't feel like disconnecting the BR and taking it up to the computer room, I merely pop out the memory card from the BR-864, take it upstairs, and put it in my computer's card reader. Then I use the BR Wave Converter program to transfer files to/from the card.

Have you tried the BR Wave Converter? It's very easy to use. If you used the BR Wave Converter to convert your Micro BR tracks to a stereo wave file, you could then export that wave file to the BR-864's memory card via a card reader, avoiding the unecessary digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital conversions from recording the Micro BR's output to the BR-864 via Line In.

hey 64
That's a good idea-the card reader-The BR doesn't need to mounted -just pop it in the reader? sweet
I've thought of buying a 600 since they're so inexpensive
