That is one great song to try to cover, the lead guitar tone is beautiful for sure.

Q: What guitars and amps were you using back then?

BG: Just my Les Paul and a '54 hardtail Strat—an old maple neck thing that I still have kicking around somewhere. I recall using that Strat on "Blue Jean Blues," and I had it going through the amp and also direct into the board. You'll notice it's a very clean sound on that song. We were actually just warming up, and the engineer said, "Gee, this is different, why don't we explore that tone a little bit?" My amp at the time was a 1969 100-watt Marshall. It wasn't a plexi, it had a gold-anodized face, and I ran it into a 4x12 cabinet loaded with Celestion greenbacks.
