Maybe you should put some clear cellophane tape on the silicone rubber case, then write on the tape instead of the actual case. That way, you can always remove it later when you've memorized the buttons.

Will this silicon case insanity ever end?  For those with the same problem as me, the hole in the silicon blocks the line in jack, then the solution is to use the guitar in jack.  I use the line in for my casio keyboard (drawbar organ to woodblocks and whistles) but it works just the same through the guitar jack with the effects switched off.  And no silicon was hurt in the experiment!
