This may be old news to some of you, but I just found out that Leslie West lost his right leg to diabetes last summer. He now performs in a wheelchair but is supposed to be getting a prosthetic leg. I was really sorry to learn this. Leslie West is a bit of a hero of mine. I saw him with Mountain in 1970 and they were fantastic. I have about a half-dozen or more of their albums.

Mountain was an awesome band! Never knew this either.

It`s amazing when i see amputees smiling and laughing like nothing happened to them.

Makes me love life more. Looks like he has a nice house!!

I've known Leslie since the 'Mountain' days back in the '70s. I met him first at the Cincy Rock Fest where I interviewed him for the 'Raspberry Radical' underground rag, and ran into him quite a few times when I was in 'BLACKMALE'.

He was having a little problem when I last saw him in 2008, so I wasn't surprised when I read about his little setback last year.
