Got some lyrics for this tune now.  Here's the backing track only.  The song structure is a little backward to typical and is more chorus/verse.  Also have left room for a lead verse, intro and ending.  I'm real flexible about the lyrics & order:

-WAY-
--------------------------------------------
The following lines REPEAT at the *
   ( ) = optional

Can't find my myself
   (Hangin' round, wasting space)

Can't find my place
   (In this human race)

Can't find the time
   (Been looking everywhere....)
---------------------------------------------
*
Life's a book with many pages
Lots of chapters - different stages

I look ahead and fall behind
Think I'm gonna loose my mind
*
Friends all tell me where to go
But they're so lost that they don't know

Day grows near then the night is gone
The road is hard so I must be strong
*
In comes the sun but it's all too bright
What will it take to see the light

I'm beside myself, absent minded
Lost my cause please help me find it
*
Then I see the children play
Have no cares just live today

Maybe that's the clue I need   [need to replace this part]
To help in finding me indeed    [ " ]

Ok, I think I might be getting somewhere.  Bad thing is- I've got to be getting to bed for tonight. I'm starting my 2nd semester of Music Education at the Community College in the morning.  I'll be able to get back to you tomorrow.

P.S. Sure you can't sing! Sounded cool to me!

Hey thanks!  Here's a VERY rough edit of me "singing" it.  I don't sing so tried to use every electronic trick in the book to make it tolerable but even so don't laugh too hard.....  ::)

I'm open to any way anyone wants to do it as I know there's a song in there somewhere.  ;)

The voice works for me.  I like the sound of your voice in this song.  You sing in key.  I would bring your voice up in the mix a bit more.  Don't be shy about singing your songs it sounds great.  Now you have a complete song here, your tune, your wonderful guitar playing, your lyrics and your vocals.  Well done.  Nice smokey blues voice.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Thanks much guys for the encourgement but I know my limitations and if I can't stand my own voice, I'll never listen to my own song!   :-[   Maybe with years of voice training but that's not going to happen.  ::)

As to "Nice smokey blues voice", that would be from 40 years of 1-2 packs a day.  Not recommended.  In fact I finally just quit this year and using more music as a distraction from the withdrawal.

Anyway, that's a real rough mix.  If you listen close (where I wasn't stepping on myself with leads....) you can even hear the distortion of the BR-600s pitch corrector not being able to keep me in key.  :D

Still would like to hear a REAL singer do it.  I can't even hit the "optional" lyric background parts myself which have all the bluey feeling in them. (similar idea to the "can't get no worse" part in "feeling better all the time")
