Another song from the Sangretts era. this is an everyday tale of love, crime and time travel.
In answer to an earlier question (that I can't get back to!) I recorded these on a 24track Zoom recorder.
All In Vain (JB MacKellar)

In the heat of the sun I'm melting
And the vermillion sand has turned to glass
At the appointed time I'll meet you at the palace gates
The guards all see me but they won't let me pass

And it's all in vain
I'm in Limbo 'til I see you agan

I see you standing in a Western barroom
Pouring redeye for a dusty traihound
He touches you and I challenge him
A gun goes off and the room spins round as I go down

And it's all in vain
I'm in Limbo 'til I see you again

I see you standing on a sunlit beach in India
There's saffron robed dancers all around
And though the temple is resplendent (there's ten thousand children singing)
Well you know that I can't hear a sound

Because it's all in vain
I'm in Limbo 'til I see you again
I've followed you from place to place
I've followed you from time to time...

Loving this Jimbo, amazing harmonies and a real lush sound. Very nice lead vocal performance as well. Got a bit of a High Llamas feel to it for me - clever instrumetation and arrangement, and a thoughtful, lyrical feel.

Could you post the lyrics? They sound intriguing but sadly my hearing isn't good enough to make them out on the track.

Cheers,

Nigel

Yeah!! Great stuff, kinda Cat Stevens meets Paul Weller vibe to me. Good to see you on the site, this is a TOP place!! Just watch out for the freaks who spend far too much of their time POSTING here. Especially the creepy OLD ones. ROTTEN they are, in the HEAD.  ::) ;)
