My Ibanez chrimbo present had to go back to the shop, way playing at a party on new years night, when this horrible buzzing sound came from the bridge, well any way the guys at shop tried to fix it, the wiring was all loose, must have been a friday afternoon one.
I picked another guitar and ended up with an Adam Black elecro acoustic, a little more expensive but much better quality, so hears my take on Iris.

Great Cover... way to put your own spin on it. I used to cover this one live... not an easy song to cover. Way to go John.

Excellent cover side effect! I like your voice and vibrato in this and the new guitar sparkles with all kinds of tone. The short acoustic solo is a gem...sometimes straight forward and smooth hits the mark as in this case. Nice one!

John this is a really fantastic cover. That acoustic sounds fantastic. The vox and backing vox are divine man! I'd say the guitar deal worked out in your favor.

Very interesting!  I was listening to this thinking "wow this sounds great, thanks for introducing me to this song", but suddenly 3 minutes in I realized I know the song quite well but you did it in such a unique way (good way too) that I didn't recognize it immediately.  Putting your own spin on this really created something good and unique.  Perhaps, in retrospect, Goo Goo Dolls use too much crunchy electric guitar on all their guitars.  Kind of makes a song sound really cool the first few times you listen, but sometimes doesn't have lasting power to keep one interesting.  I think you managed to give the song more lasting power with your take.
