Damn man, you have outdone yourself here.  I was listening to some Tom Petty this morning on the way into work and the original of this song came on.  Your version is a true tribute made out of respect and love for the artist and song.  You have caught not only the notes, but the full feeling of the original, without blindly just covering it, you caught the emotion behind the song, the vibe.  Very, very good job here.  A master class in covering a well loved and much listened to song.  Outstanding.  

I love Tom Petty, he is one of the good guys in rock, always writing excellent songs, not the absolute best voice, but he made it work perfectly with his songs, I can't imagine anybody else singing his songs.  One of the great voices in rock IMO.  I really like the one he put out last year, mojo, damn fine blues-rock there.  Great cover, great post, great job, great scott..............that 12 string is positively delicous..........I have GAS now........
