Rayon Vert is the internet band I'm a member of. To my ears, this song is a cross of Led Zep's and Rush's style  but you may hear it differently. It has it's proggy rock moments. Enjoy!

Farrell

Gary Carciello - all guitars, drum programming.
Rob Grant - Bass
DrC - all keyboards, mix/mastering
Farrell Jackson - lyric, melody, and all vocals.

Prisoner

V1 - If you were a bird, I'd put you in a cage
I could hear you sing, but you wouldn't be my slave

Chorus - I would be your prisoner
At your beckon call
'Cause your love surrounds me
Like a prison's walls

I would be your captive
Down on bended knees
'Cause your love surrounds me
Like a lover needs

V2 - If you were a flower, I'd put you in a garden
I could smell your sweetness, but I wouldn't be your warden

Chorus - I would be your prisoner
At your beckon call
'Cause your love surrounds me
Like a prison's walls

I would be your captive
Down on bended knees
'Cause your love surrounds me
Like a lover needs

V3 If you were a pony, I'd put you in a pasture
I could watch you run, but I wouldn't be your master

F@cking hell , this is top stuff , you've definitely captured a Plant feel with this vocal especially , but then the whole song has that presence , can't really say enough about this song , i just want to keep listening , this ranks as one of the best songs I've ever heard one this forum , to think I'm the first to comment is unbelievable , congrats to the whole band Farrell mate , this must be a long lost Zep song surely

Hey thanks guys! We (Rayon Vert) are just finishing up our 2nd cd and Prisoner is one of the songs on it. This isn't the mastered version. The master sounds much better. I'll be posting a couple of others off the cd in the near future. As you all can hear....I did borrow some of Robert Plant's vocal style :o)

Robbie - thanks so much for the good words. My part in the group is easy... all I have to do is find a melody, write some words and sing them. The other talented members have the hard part....they have to play that difficult stuff.

Nick - I totally appreciate you listening and commenting twice....with your high quality of vocals and musicianship, it means a lot. Thank you!

Jean - It is French but you would know that...Le Rayon Vert, lol! We got the name from a Jules Vern Novel. Le Rayon Vert (The Green Flash) ...yes very French...there's a a whole story behind the name. Thanks for the good comment!

ORH - Thank you!

Kenny B - when I heard the music I knew it needed a Robert Plant style of vox. In my younger days I could sing this stuff all night long but now it only happens in the studio since my vocal chords aren't in as good of condition....and I had better get it by the third take or my voice will need a rest or just another beer, lol! Thanks.

Enjoyed this a lot, have to say that it's all very impressive but the drum programming is superlative - I thought they were real drums when they kicked off. Can only agree with the Zep influence, especially around the 3 minute mark. I love the bass playing, the vox, the guitar, well all of it! Excellent stuff, I'd really like to see you live! Rayon Vert and the Falsies together on one bill would be a helluva gig.....

I'd like to hear the mastered version of that's possible....

Cheers,

Nigel
