Late submission for the Cityfest.

Using my new Ibanez Talman which I got for Chrissy.  Most of the tracking was done during the Xmas break, tonight is the first time I got to do a vocal.  There is a bit of a mains hum / earthing issue with the guitar which I need to get addressed, otherwise I am very pleased with it.

Nice job, Nick.  I don't know the original but I like this. Cool guitar licks, and I like the percussion (wood blocks?).

All the percussion sounds are off of my Boss DR-5 Dr Rhythm section, everything is played on pads, nothing programmed.  I built up the drums and percussion on four tracks, kick drum then hi-hat then snare and finally percussion and other cymbols.  I find it makes for a better live feel and gives more control over levels in mixdown.

I'm familiar with the original and this sounds better to my ear than the Adam and Ant version!! Can't say anything what to do otherwise! Love it!!

Happy New Year Nick.  Like the sound of your new guitar!  I remember the original of this - wasn't a favourite of mine but each to his own! However, I did enjoy listening to your version a few times - there's quite a lot to it part-wise with the guitar and keyboards and the percussion and you've put it together really well.  Inspired me into a little jig around with the headphones on!!

Turns out it was their debut single, pre Dirk Wears White Sox.  The reissued it after Dog Eat Dog and it got to number 8. (I looked it up on Wikipedia).

Nor mine if I'm honest.  It came up when I was looking through my iPod looking for candidates for Cityfest.  When I got my acoustic for Xmas, it seemed the right one to do.  Glad to have made you bop again.

And a Happy New Year to you all (only a week late).
