This is a tune I've played with my band. Been a while since I last played it but the melody lingers on long after the dance has ended.

I played the bass and guitar tracks and the harp.
The horns and keys are synthesized on a GR-20.
The drum track was done on a DR-880.

I did two tracks of vocals.
The main vocal track is stereo widened, doubled and pitch-shifted by a harmonizer then compressed.
The harmony vocal track is stereo widened and doubled with a 30 millisecond offset between the tracks and a bit of reverb and compression.

I also used several effects plugins when editing the tracks with Adobe Audition.

Oh, yeah I love it! We play this one, and no matter how bad it sounds there is always a positive reaction. Such a great tune.

I 've never heard of "wars" version of this song but Ive heard versions by Cheech and Chong and Exodus (Thrash Metal).
I like this song and your cover makes me like it even more.
