First, Welcome to the site  ;)

 I am assuming your using the included memory card which is only 128MB and if you've made more than 1 song you've probably used it all up.... so your only option's at this point are;

 A) delete everything except the song you are working on, including the demo song and hope that frees up enough space.

 B) buy a new SD card and use your PC to backup then transfer the data from the old card to the new card after it's been initialized, and then continue working from there.

 C) finally if your interested in working with computers and software for editing/mixing/mastering/DAW, you can use a program called BR Explorer which has an addon called WAV Converter (both free downloadable from the downloads section http://microrecorders.org/downloads.html) to rip each track to to a .WAV on your PC out of the .BR0 file (the file that stores all the song/track data) and then use a 3rd party program such as Audicity to mix them down into an MP3 on your PC. This method requires recording a track with the rythm(drums) on it though, as the BR dosen't record them unless they are playing while bouncing or mastering.

FYI - While the manual states that 1GB cards are the maximum, they are becoming obsolete and harder and harder to find. 2GB cards will work fine except you will still only be able to use 1GB of the cards memory, I can't rem off hand about bigger cards. being cheap now a days, I'd recommend buying a couple SD cards so you never run out of memory and I think also you can only have 5 songs total on a memory card at one time so If your working on several songs at once, having a single card without PC access can be limiting.

Be careful when transfering data to/from your PC via USB as in not to disconnect the USB cable without "safely removing hardware" first as simply unplugging the USB can mess up your memory card. I learned this the hard way, even though it says it in the manual.

If you have any other questions, take a look in the "Getting Started" section, theres a wealth of information.

EDIT: I said you can only have 5 songs, but I was wrong. The 5 limit is for drum arrangements.

This sounds similar to a problem I had a while back. There didn't seem to be any reason for the card to be full, and yet that message came up every time I tried to export to mp3. What I did to fix this (and will be worth a try for you) was to:-

1. Back up anything everything to pc - both mp3 and song folders.

2. From utility, use 'OPT' to optimise the card. There may be some virtual tracks taking up space.

3. If this still doesn't work you'll have to re-initialise the card. This is what I had to do and it fixed it (see manual...). However, it will delete EVERYTHING already on the card, therefore doing a back-up before this is essential. You can then drag everything back into the BR via your PC.

This only happened to me once, and I haven't had any space issues since. But I still don't know why it happened!

This is just another users advice, and it's up to you - you may want to wait for someone to give you a more 'technical' solution / explanation.

I'm not sure what you mean about 5 songs only. I've had dozens and still lots of room with the 1 gig.
Maybe I read that wrong.

And i just got two 2GB cards in the mail. :D.hopefully i won't have to do all this importing/exporting again unless i find it better than what i've been doing. i feel a lot smarter for it..thats for sure.
Dmann, your explicit directions and links were very helpful.

If they are the right chips they'll have lots of room but the machine won't recognize more that 1 gig.

Do you meat there is some 2GB cads that will work? This is great news as it's getting more and more difficult to get 1GB cards at all, and if you get them some don't work that well at all (card read error ...etc.)

That is the case.  I've never tried it, but others have with success.
